Another video, thanks to my mother, which requires no introduction. Just watch.
In other news, I slept in this morning. I know, probably not the groundbreaking information you were hoping for, but there you have it. I woke up as usual at 5:30am, looked at the clock, thought about all the things I need to do today and then, next thing I know, it’s ten minutes to eight! What??? Seriously. That rarely happens, but when it does, I always feel as though I’d stepped into some sort of time stealing machine. I literally lost two plus hours or you could think of it as gaining two plus hours of sleep, which is what I’m choosing to go with.
The other really important thing I need to tell you is that I lost my 52 day streak on Duolingo. I know, you’re thinking, well, why didn’t she begin with this, because this is actually HUGE? For those of you who don’t know, Duolingo is a language app. I have alternated between trying to learn German and French. For the last few months I’ve been concentrating on French solely and can now confidently say things like, “Il y a une vache dans le jardin!” and other such useful phrases. I know, I know I’ll be conversing like a native french speaker in no time.
Now I must get back to work as I have a video to shoot, edit and post, a Zoom class to organize and publicize, threads to choose for my next design project and at least part of a chapter to write for my Left Handed Stitching Book – Thinking Outside of the Box; that’s the working title and may change. All of these things and so much more are on my To Do List, which, if I’m being honest, is a little like the daily texts I get from Duolingo. They are meant to motivate, but can feel like a nag. Except that in the case of the To Do List, it’s me who is nagging me. There’s a reason Duolingo and countless other apps and businesses use this method of “motivation.” They work. A To Do List is incredibly helpful. It keeps me from getting too stressed out about what I want to accomplish, puts everything down on a page that I can easily see, and there’s great satisfaction in being able to cross items off a list. Boom! Done. So the occasional nagging might be exactly what I need, after all.
Oh! And not to be a nag, but if you haven’t gone over to Etsy to take a look at my latest design, now might be a good time to do that, just sayin’. 😊
