As many of you know, my mother sends me little songs, videos, sometimes a cartoon or a meme, like the one below…

And here’s another, this time a youtube video, which is still timely for so many in the United States.
She also sent me this video. Amazing. Obviously I needed to get my kids in the kitchen far younger than I did, though they both are perfectly capable of fixing their own meals, still, they aren’t up to this kind of artistry!
Maybe I should change the name of this blog to – “Sh*t my mother sends me.” (This is a blatant riff on the best-selling book, turned sitcom a few years back – Sh*t my Dad Says.)
Which brings me to my next topic… you didn’t really think I was going to end there, did you?
Here in New York City the idea of indoor dining has been reconsidered, and while we are doing pretty well, especially considering we once held the dubious title “epicenter of the pandemic” many of us are staying in and only venturing out to get some exercise or needed supplies, while others, clearly done with the whole #stayhome #staysafe thing are acting as though everything was back to normal. Even so, New York City is holding steady and has not seen an uptick, unlike many other parts of the country.

But every now and then I forget that the world has dramatically changed and our lives are not going to be the same for the foreseeable future. It’s during those times that I think things like – oh, I’ll just pop out to the garment district and see if I can find a couple of different slate blue linens in different color values. Then, just as I’m grabbing my keys, reality hits and I turn to the internet instead. My friend Anna Bates, over at Quilt Roadies (which, if she ever needed to change the name of her Youtube channel she could always call it – Everyone Loves Anna) suggested I just hand dye what I need. I couldn’t tell if she was kidding or not, but regardless, I felt guilty that I immediately balked at her kind and thoughtful suggestion.
All of this is to say my latest idea(s) have been delayed due to my inability to get some essential supplies and adamant refusal to take the time to purchase the raw material that I need and then hand dye it. And since I live in NYC, where everything is available at just about any hour of the day or night, this is a hard pill to swallow.
However I’m rising to the occasion and am busy with other projects until my fabric arrives. I’ll keep you updated, because I know this will be weighing on your mind until I do. 😳
That kid is absolutely unbelievable!!! Where did you Mom find the video, do you know? Makes me think I should never bother to bake again. What’ll he grow uto be, do you think?

I thought the same thing! He couldn’t be older than two I don’t think… I kept thinking – did someone digitally manipulate this video so it looks like a baby, but it’s actually an adult? He also is very good about cleaning the dishes, which seems like such a bonus!! 😂😂❤️❤️
